Alireza Tahmasebzadeh shares with us how he came up with the idea of building fully customizable modular smart watches. He then argues how creative design will cause mass produced gadgets to customize for each individual.

Alireza Tahmaseb is founder and CEO of Blocks Wearables, a fully customizable modular smart watch. London-based technology start-up behind the world's first Blocks has been featured in world class media including BBC, CNBC, Guardian, Forbes, and The Telegraph.
Blocks has been awarded the most disruptive start-up by the British Royal Family, has won People's choice award at Intel's Make it Wearable Challenge, and was finalist of Mayor of London's Low Carbon Competition. Blocks Smart watch has been voted by public as one of the game-changers of wearable technology for 2015 and has won the famous Red Dot award for best design concept in 2015. Before Blocks, Alireza was a researcher in Human-Computer Interaction.
Alireza has published various scientific papers, one book, and holds a number of patents and has won medals in national and international Olympiads. He studied Biomedical Engineering in Imperial College London.
