Sana Mustafa is a Syrian refugee and an activist. She fled the war that has been tearing her country apart in 2013 and now lives in the United States. As a consultant, she advises different institutions on designing engagement projects related to refugees, inclusion, and the Syrian political and humanitarian situation. She’s a founding member of the Network for Refugee Voices, a refugee- led coalition working to increase engagement with the international community to pursue inclusive, sustainable and effective refugee and immigration policies. The network’s slogan is “Nothing about us without us,” underscoring the necessity to involve refugees in defining and implementing such policies. As she says:
