Raana is a sustainability director and environmentalist. Her educational background is in Environmental Science. In 2007, she took her first steps with designing the Green School project for the first time in Tehran. Since 2008, she has been working as a Consultant on various international projects, including LIFE-LINK and ENVIRONMENT ONLINE (ENO). As a National Operator of Iran she has also worked for ECO-SCHOOLS and LEAF (the main programs of Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE). She won an ENO Silver Medal. Since 2018, she has been involved in the SMARTEHRAN program as the Head of the Smart Environment Working Group, focusing on Environment, Energy, and sustainability Smart monitoring systems. At the same time, she was elected as the Committee Manager of SUSTAINABLE CITIES and COMMIUNITTIES technical Committee (TC 268) of ISO in Iran. In 2021, she was promoted as the committee chairwoman. At present, she is working as the Chief Sustainability Officer (CSO) at Tehran Municipality.
